Reporting to New Business Manager, the New Business Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the New Business Manager in the acquisition and mobilisation of new accounts. A significant part of the role will be to proactively prospect new customers and engage with a new account set up process. This will drive the success of B2B Key Accounts in many different outbound campaigns, whilst ensuring that our customers receive the high level of service they expect from Screwfix through proactive and regular planned contact.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the New Business Manager to agree commercials ensuring sales growth and margin targets are delivered.
  • Be able to work independently to drive sales leads, organise time and pro-actively engage with new customers to gain feedback and action through call campaign activity, webinars, emails, tender support and lead generation CRM systems
  • Prepare and deliver quotes for customer tenders, price files, RFQs, RFIs, bulk quotes and benchmarking exercises.
  • Manage initial stage of bids & tender qualification (bid go / no go) process. Complete customer supplier/vendor forms to deadlines and identify where contracts are a no-go.
  • Be involved in the strategic planning process, identifying new sales, sku range maximisation and service opportunities across all sectors. Provide accurate & meaningful reports & Management Information using Excel & CRM reporting system 
  • Accurately maintain and manage the prospect database and tender portals to source new opportunities. Produce, update, and manage new business sales trackers to provide accurate data on existing and prospective customers
  • Be a point of contact for our new B2B customers, building and maintaining effective relationships with key decision makers, offering support & resolution. Deliver targeted call campaigns to drive end user sales spend and undertake initial customer meetings to explore potential for the New Business Manager. Support on customer meeting reviews, providing valuable feedback and a concise insight
  • Attend internal meetings with the B2B team and the wider Screwfix business with NB insight. Liaise with other departments to gather information where needed. Share valuable information internally with colleagues to support their customer due diligence.
  • Work with Trade UK to provide support to our customers, including debt management, loss prevention and card administration. 
  • Produce, update, and manage new business sales trackers to provide accurate data on existing and prospective customers. & maintain customer records in the Sales CRM database
  • Manage rebate payment process from start to finish. Generate rebate claim, provide supporting material, send to New Business Manager for sign-off then follow process for payment.
  • Provide office support when the new business manager is out of the office for new accounts and prospects.
  • Keep up to speed on all relevant industry and B2B news, products, and innovations, including being aware of competitors in our marketplace.
  • Support New Business Manager with trade exhibitions. Provide data for attendance and where required attend trade shows to generate new leads.

Qualifications

  • A proven background in customer sales and service in a B2B environment
  • Experience in relationship building over the phone, using natural conversational skills to enhance sales opportunities by listening and understanding customer need.
  • Proven ability in problem solving, taking responsibility to achieve positive solutions which suit both the customer and the business. 
  • Experience in using Excel and producing accurate data analysis.  
  • Sales Orientated- tenacious, positive & motivated. 
  • Flexible & adaptable- skilled at managing your own workloads & working on your own initiative 
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, whilst being open to changing direction to suit business needs. 
  • Communication– a clear & confident communicator both over the phone & through written communication 
  • Commitment to results– Focussed on your targets and the ability to overcome any obstacles that may arise
