Overview

Join a major business transformation programme as a Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a 12-month fixed-term contract, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping future Finance processes. Working as part of the Business Reference Group (BRG), you’ll provide expert insight to support the design and delivery of future-state Finance processes with the implementation of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, as well as assessing change impacts across the Finance function and wider business to enable successful adoption.

This is a fantastic opportunity to influence large-scale change, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and ensure Finance requirements are embedded into programme design and delivery. You’ll bring strong operational Finance knowledge across areas such as Record to Report, Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, and Controls, alongside ERP systems experience, ideally within Dynamics 365 or a similar platform.

What's in it for you?

  • 33 days' holiday (including bank holidays, 5 of which can be taken flexibly)
  • Hybrid working with up to 2 days working from home
  • Flexible start and end times around core working hours
  • Buy More Holiday - eligible colleagues can boost their holiday allowance by up to one extra week
  • EV Car Scheme in Partnership with Tusker - eligible colleagues can lease a brand-new or pre-loved electric vehicle
  • Up to 14% employer pension contributions

  • Health cash plan and discounted gym memberships (up to 25% savings)
  • 20% discount at Screwfix and B&Q

  • Support the Business Lead and Change Team in driving engagement across the finance function, acting as a change advocate to help embed new processes and ways of working.
  • Provide functional expertise and insight to support stakeholder decision-making, particularly in relation to finance processes, risks, and impacts of change.
  • Support the configuration of the solution, working with programme and technical teams to validate that system setup reflects agreed finance processes.
  • Contribute to the review and validation of business processes within your area of expertise, ensuring alignment with programme design and business requirements.
  • Work closely with change teams to update and refine change impact assessments, ensuring impacts to finance processes, roles, and controls are clearly understood and documented.
  • Support the delivery of key programme projects and milestones, ensuring finance-related activities are completed in line with the overall delivery plan.
  • Contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including supporting the development; review of UAT scenarios and scripts and coordinating and executing testing within the finance function; ensuring testing outcomes are aligned to business requirements.
  • Collaborate with programme teams to review and validate training materials, ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and reflect finance processes and system functionality.
  • Provide ongoing support to change and training teams, supplying detailed functional input to enable effective communications, training, and business readiness activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong Finance operations experience e.g., Record to Report, Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, Controls.
  • ERP / Finance systems exposure, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or similar ERP), including an understanding of how standard system capability shapes process design.
  • Basic to intermediate process mapping skills, with ability to document and review processes.
  • Experience working as part of a project team or supporting business change initiatives.
  • Working knowledge (or willingness to learn) of industry best practice and internal processes within their functional area.
  • Positive and open approach to change, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
