Overview

It’s an exciting time to join the Screwfix for Business team! As we continue to grow our B2B proposition, this role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the business and influence how we serve trade and business customers at scale. 

Reporting to the Strategic Development and Partnerships Manager, you'll play a key role in driving sales and profit growth across Screwfix for Business. You’ll be responsible for developing and evolving a competitive, customer-focused assortment and trading plan that meets the changing needs of our business customers. 

Working collaboratively across the Screwfix for Business and Category teams, you’ll identify and close range gaps for key accounts and tender opportunities, enable rapid SKU onboarding, and ensure our offer is fit for purpose across a wide range of customer jobs and project needs. Your work will directly support improved conversion, increased share of wallet, and a stronger overall customer proposition.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales and profitability targets for Screwfix for Business within assigned categories, using a B2B lens to drive conversion, basket completion and share of wallet.
  • Partner with Category Managers and Trading Managers to shape a 2-year Category Strategy and Screwfix for Business assortment roadmap, informed by B2B customer insight, market trends, competitor activity and tender pipeline needs.
  • Develop and deliver a 12-month Screwfix for Business trading plan for your categories, balancing core performance with targeted range expansion activity; align promotional plans where relevant to B2B customer needs and trading calendar.
  • Track Screwfix for Business performance and identify drivers of lost sales and under-conversion (e.g., range gaps, availability, pack sizes, substitutions); propose and deliver corrective actions to protect KPIs and improve tender outcomes.
  •  Identify, source and onboard new products and suppliers to close Screwfix for Business range gaps (including tender-led requirements), securing commercial terms and supply solutions that support sustainable growth.
  •  Work effectively in a matrix model, aligning day-to-day priorities with B2B Sales/Key Accounts and the tender pipeline while ensuring activity complements wider channel and category plans.
  • Maintain strong competitive and sector awareness, translating market insight into clear actions on range, price architecture and proposition to strengthen Screwfix for Business credibility with customers and procurement teams.
  •  Use B2B customer, sector and project insight to define the right proposition (including pack size and specification requirements) for Screwfix for Business customer jobs-to-be-done, identifying opportunities for sector-specific range development.
  •  Work with Category and Trading Managers to set and maintain pricing for Screwfix for Business within the pricing framework, supporting tender requirements through appropriate pack-size, substitution and price logic.
  •  Partner with Kingfisher Group and relevant suppliers to accelerate Screwfix for Business-specific assortment expansion, bringing in innovation and new categories that unlock incremental revenue streams.
  •  Lead Screwfix for Business range change activity end-to-end, including rapid SKU onboarding for live opportunities and clear exit strategies where required; maintain governance on range gap tracking, availability and substitution principles.
  • Prepare clear, insight-led updates and proposals for stakeholders (Commercial, Screwfix for Business Sales/Key Accounts and leadership), ensuring alignment through weekly tender/range-gap reviews and monthly performance and ROI reporting.
  •  Support forecasting and performance management for Screwfix for Business categories, tracking ROI from new range and assessing impact on sales, margin, conversion and tender win rate.
  •  Manage end-to-end delivery of trading and range activity against tight deadlines, ensuring responsiveness to the tender pipeline and effective coordination of internal processes (e.g., nomination, proofing, re-pricing and system set-up)

Qualifications

  • Experience working within commercial role, ideally trading or buying/category/supply chain experience (retail, wholesale or B2B), with accountability for sales, margin and stock/availability performance. 
  • Experience building and evolving an assortment/range strategy and translating it into an executable trading plan. 
  • Customer-focused, able to use B2B customer insight (including key account feedback) to prioritise range, pack size and proposition improvements. 
  • Understanding of multi-channel trading (store, online and B2B service models) and how to align B2B priorities with the wider category strategy would be an advantage 
  • Commercial judgement on pricing and proposition, including ability to support tender requirements through clear pack-size, substitution and price logic. 
  • Analytical capability (sales/margin, availability, lost sales, conversion) and confidence building ROI cases for new range investment. 
  • Excel skills (data analysis and performance reporting) and the ability to create clear, decision-led updates (e.g., in PowerPoint). 
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills, able to operate effectively in a matrix (Commercial and Screwfix for Business) and influence priorities. 
  • Supplier and internal process management, with proven ability to deliver at pace (e.g., rapid SKU onboarding) while maintaining governance and attention to detail.
