Overview

Fixed term contract until February 2027

 

Reporting to the Product Data Governance Manager, this role collaborates with teams across Commercial, E-Commerce, QA, and suppliers to optimise products within the product hierarchy. It involves building and enhancing product selling data for new product types, as well as maintaining the business rules that govern the Screwfix product hierarchy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the accurate classification and setup of products by interpreting range and product requirements in line with agreed data standards.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure product data is complete, accurate and ready ahead of product launches.
  • Own a defined set of product categories, working closely with Trading, eCommerce and related teams to align priorities and support shared commercial and customer goals.
  • Assess and continually decide-upon the current product data model, including attributes, rules and hierarchies, while supporting changes as structures evolve.
  • Support the use of SEO, generative search and AI-informed insights within product data processes to help improve visibility and relevance.
  • Carry out routine data quality checks, cleansing activities and maintenance of product relationships and groupings.
  • Liaise with compliance and quality assurance teams to ensure relevant legislative and QA requirements are reflected in product data.
  • Investigate and resolve product data or hierarchy issues, escalating where needed.
  • Engage with external vendors to request missing or incomplete product information when required.
  • Produce and share standard reports or data extracts to support stakeholders and day-to-day operations.
  • Flag potential risks, issues or dependencies early to help protect data quality and delivery plans.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and consistently.
  • Experience working with customer-facing product data and an understanding of product information management principles.
  • Effective planning and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work flexibly in response to changing priorities or requirements.
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge.
