As a PR Executive at Screwfix, you’ll play a key role in supporting our press office and bringing our brand to life through impactful PR activity. From writing press releases to supporting campaign delivery and working with journalists, you’ll be at the heart of how we show up externally.

 

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days look the same. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, helping to shape campaigns, manage communications and make sure our activity lands in the right places, with the right audiences.

 

This is a 12 month FTC opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development, delivery and reporting of PR campaigns
  • Writing engaging copy and press releases for a range of audiences
  • Working with stakeholders across Screwfix and the wider group to bring campaigns to life
  • Building relationships with journalists to secure media coverage
  • Supporting PR activity for store openings and key business moments
  • Keeping marketing and PR plans up to date and on track
  • Analysing campaign performance and sharing results and insights
  • Managing and updating the Screwfix media centre
  • Supporting communications around The Screwfix Foundation
  • Playing a role in internal and external communications, including crisis support
  • Helping coordinate ad hoc campaigns, projects and PR activity
  • Providing general support to keep the press office running smoothly

Qualifications

  • A background in journalism or external communications
  • Strong writing skills with a creative edge
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Confident communicator across multiple channels
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Comfortable using tools like PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress) is a plus
  • Exposure to marketing, campaigns or events would be beneficial but not essential
